Message The problem with my RPS/ACT combo (RPS pressure plate/ACT disc) clutch was what you described EXCEPT that my engagement point was getting higher and higher as the car warms up--clutch pedal was almost completely up before it engages. And during a cold start-up, when the engine is still cold, the clutch grabs and the car would actually move even when the clutch pedal is completely pressed in. I tried adjusting the pedal travel but to no avail. A fellow tt.net member, Snives, pin pointed the cause as a bad clutch booster. I just recently had him replace the clutch booster and that seem to cure my problem. The clutch is grabbing stronger than before now and doesn't seem to be slipping anymore but I have yet to test it on high rpms as I'm trying to un-glazed it. But after seeing what happened to your disc, it makes me wonder if I should have my tranny dropped to make sure everything is intact inside.

By the way, I did call RPS and they did send me one of their slave cylinders for free. I have yet to install it but after replacing the clutch booster, I feel that there is no need to even mess with the slave cylinder at this point.

Check out the two slave cylinders from RPS. The top pic is what I got and the bottom is CarloZ's. Notice the two rods on the top pic, the short one is stock and the longer one is fabricated. I had one fabricated as I remember reading something on forum that replacing the rod with a longer one would fix the engagement woos of the RPS clutch.
